The Škocjan Caves

This excursion includes a visit to the Lipica Stud Farm, where the Lipizzaner horses originate from, and a tour of the Škocjan Caves, one of Slovenia's most beautiful natural sights.

The Lipica Stud Farm, founded in 1580 by the Austrian archduke Charles of Hapsburg, was the world's first stud farm to breed Lipizzaner horses. At the farm, you will learn about the breeding, raising and training of Lipizzaner horses and see an equestrian show.

The Škocjan Caves, carved into limestone by an intermittent karst river, is a natural site included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. A 5.8 kilometre system of underground karst caves extends over an area of 1.2 hectares.
